The San Juan Islands are located between the mainland of Washington State mainland and Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Haro Strait is located west of the San Juan Islands while Rosario Strait is to the east.

The largest island in the archipelago is San Juan Island. The largest community on that island is called Friday Harbor.
Ferry Service is available from Friday harbor to Shaw Island, Orcas Island, Lopez Island, Anacortes and Sidney BC (Canada).
