Canada Island

Washington State Tourist Information and Travel Guide

Canada Island is one of two islands in the Spokane River that were used for Expo '74 in Spokane Washington.  It was once an industrial island covered largely by railroad tracks.  Today, it is an integral part of Spokane's beautiful Riverfront Park.

During Expo '74, the island was home to Canada's pavilion and open air amphitheater.  Many Canadian bands and singers entertained visitors at the outdoor theater.  The heritage of Canada's native people was well represented at the Canadian pavilion.
